Itinerary of your Perfect Road Trip
Day 1, Monterey
Drive to Monterey, a small charming coastal town. Stop at Santa Cruz along the way and the charming small town of Carmel.
On your way, you might drive through Gilroy, the Garlic Capital of the World, and Castroville, the Artichoke Capital of the World. Visit local stores to learn more and taste some delicious produce, on find a pick-your-own farm.
Pick up a Seafood Watch guide from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is considered one of the world’s best sustainable seafood advisory lists.

Day 2, Santa Maria
Today you are driving on the scenic Highway 1 along the Californian coast, one of the most beautiful roads in the United States.
Visit Point Lobos State Natural Reserve for some very short yet incredibly rewarding hikes with dramatic views of the ocean
For a meal with a view, stop at Nepenthe, a coffee and restaurant with a patio directly overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which is also committed to donating funds to local nonprofits working for the Big Sur community.

Day 3, Los Angeles
Stop in Santa Barbara to visit the famous Mission before arriving in Los Angeles for your last full day of the trip.
Attend one (or more!) of 50 free concerts and festivals at the Levitt Pavilion in Macarthur Park during the summer weekends.
A cool way to explore the area is to go fruit picking in the city! One of Endless Orchard’s projects is to map all the fruit trees that grow in or over public space.
