  • Enjoy a guided tour in each city. In New York, discover Times Square and its immense, illuminated billboards, Greenwich Village with its tree-lined streets, Soho and Chinatown.

  • In Philadelphia, your tour guide will highlight the city’s historic center, home to Independence Hall.

  • In Washington, you will see some of the best-known buildings in the United States such as the White House, the Supreme Court, the US Capitol, as well as the National Mall.

  • Explore the cities from your central hotels and enjoy all that they have to offer with free time in each one for a personal discovery.

  • Travel by train for an authentic and eco-friendly experience.

Itinerary of your East Coast Vacation

Day 1: New York
Arrival in New York. You will be met at the airport by a local guide. Transfer to your hotel. You will meet your guide at the first hotel of the tour, depending on your time of arrival. 

Accommodation: Fairfield Penn Station

 

Day 2: New York
Explore with a guided tour of Manhattan in the morning, including Times Square, Rockefeller Center, the Flatiron Building, Grand Central Station, Greenwich Village, Soho and Chinatown.

Rest of the day and meals at leisure.

Optional excursion: Central Park & Top of the Rock

Enjoy a guided tour of Central Park. Then head back to Rockefeller Center and take an elevator up to the Top of the Rock for breathtaking views of New York City

 

Day 3: New York
Day and meals at leisure. 

Optional excursion: Liberty and Ellis Islands, Lower Manhattan, The Vessel & High Line

Board the ferry to see the legendary Statue of Liberty and visit Ellis Island and its National Immigration Museum. Next you will visit Vessel, the structure that is the extraordinary centerpiece of Hudson Yards. Then you’ll walk on the High Line, a railroad track converted into a green public park.

 

Day 4: New York - Philadelphia (by train)

Take a short train ride to Philadelphia in the morning. When you arrive you will be met by a local tour guide who will show you the sights of Philadelphia.

Rest of the day and meals at leisure.

Accommodation: Holiday Inn Penn’s Landing

 

Day 5: Philadelphia 
Day and meals at leisure. 

Optional excursion: Amish country with lunch

Visit Amish Country. Enjoy a guided visit to an Amish farm, ride in an authentic Amish buggy and eat a lunch of Amish specialties. 

 

Day 6: Philadelphia – Washington D.C. (by train)
Morning transfer to the train station and departure to Washington D.C. Arrival and guided tour of the sights of the nation’s capital.

Rest of the day and meals at leisure.

Accommodation: Capitol Skyline

Optional excursion: Washington by night

In the evening, marvel at the way the landmarks of Washington DC are illuminated at night, from the White House to the National Mall. Relax without the daytime crowds and enjoy the views on this evening bus tour.

 

Day 7: Washington D.C. 
Day and meals at leisure. 

Optional excursion: Arlington Cemetery, Alexandria & Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens

In the morning, head to the Arlington National Cemetery for a tour and then continue to historic Alexandria, with many buildings visited by the founding fathers of the United States. End the day with a visit to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens, the last home of George Washington, 1st President of the United States and the location of his tomb.

 

Day 8: Washington D.C. / Departure 

Free time in the morning. You may visit some of the 19 museums of the Smithsonian Institution such as the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, or the National Portrait Gallery.  

Meet at the hotel for your transfer to the airport and return flight. Departing transfer will be scheduled in order to accommodate the flight departures of the majority of the group

* Accommodations may vary based on departure date. The final hotel list will be sent to you 15 days before your departure.

* This tour has several walks that require a basic level of fitness. The train transfers are not guided.

* Airport transfers: please give us your flight number and arrival time no later than 31 days before your travel date.

  • One scheduled airport transfer on the departure date (should you decide not to take the departing transfer, you will be responsible for your own transfer to the airport. In such a case no refunds will be provided.)

To limit the ecological impact of this tour, you will travel by train between the cities.

During the guided visits, your local guide will highlight different shops and stores that have a positive impact on the community.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will be determined according to the terms outlined below:

  • Full refund if cancellation is received 32 days or more from the departure date, minus the deposit ($200 per room)

  • 50% of the tour per person cancelled will be due for cancellation received between 31 and 8 days of the departure date

  • No refund will be provided for cancellation received between 8 days of departure and the departure date

The tour requires a minimum number of people. If it’s cancelled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
